What happens when we set up our wedding list with Wrapit?
When you set up your wedding list with Wrapit, you will enjoy the best of everything! You will be able to choose from the widest selection of gifts anywhere, while experiencing dedicated personal service and benefiting from the unique features of Wrapit's specially designed website.

Here's how it all works:

  • As soon as you submit the 'set up your list' form (you'll find the link in the menu above) you can start adding fabulous gifts to the wedding list of your dreams from our virtual department store.
  • You will be contacted by your very own Wrapit Personal Consultant who will be on hand to advise and assist you from when you start setting up your list to when you receive your wedding gifts.
  • If you want to add something to your list that isn't on our site, check to see if it is made by one of the many brands we feature on the site. If it is, let your consultant know, and we'll try to get it on the site for you.
  • If you'd like, you can arrange to visit one of our showrooms for a free consultation.
  • If you can't make it to one of our showrooms, a complimentary telephone consultation can be organised.
  • You will be asked to order Wrapit's discreet Invitation Inserts before you send out your wedding invitations, to let your guests know about your wedding list.
  • Your guests will start buying you those fabulous gifts, either online or by phone.
  • You will receive emails whenever a gift is bought which is always fun!
  • If you change your mind about what's on your list or if you want to add more gifts to your list, you will be able to do this online, at any time.
  • After your wedding, you will have the flexibility to reconsider what's been bought from your list and swap gifts around if you want to.
  • Once you're satisfied with all the gifts on your list you will be able to order them though our website.
  • Wrapit will arrange to deliver as many gifts as we have received from our suppliers about 8 weeks after you've ordered them, and we'll send the remaining gifts along in one subsequent delivery.
  • You will have access to your own Thank You Card Manager to help you with all those Thank You Cards that will need to be sent!
  • You will enjoy a 10% discount on most of your future table and cookware purchases through Wrapit, as well as access to The Wrapit Privilege List which features great gifts for all occasions, often at a special 20% discount.

    Can we visit a showroom?
    Certainly! Wrapit has showrooms across the country. Please visit our showrooms page to find the showroom nearest you and contact them directly to arrange an appointment. If required, appointments can be made for weekday evenings, Saturdays and even Sundays.

    How big is your range?
    Huge. We feature over 350 leading brands and the best designers in Europe. The full Wrapit range extends to thousands of fabulous gifts and homewares - more than you will find in a department store. To this, we have added unusual gift ideas such as art and experiences, to ensure that your wedding list meets your particular needs and reflects your own personal style.

    How do we set up our list online?
    The first thing you'll need to do is click 'set up your list' (above) and enter your details. Once you've submitted your details you will be able to browse our virtual department store (to the left) and add the gifts that you'd like to your list.

  • Each of our departments features a number of sub-departments to help you pin-point the type of gifts you're looking for.
  • When you see an image of something you're interested in, click it to reveal more information about the gift and related gifts.
  • When you find something you like, enter the quantity you'd like and click the 'add it' button. You can also change the quantities on your list.
  • Use our Product Search facility for fast access to the gifts you want.
  • To view your list at any time, click the 'manage your list' link (above). If you make any changes to your list, just click the 'update list' button (at the bottom of your list) to save those changes.

    And remember, with Wrapit you can change your mind as often as you like - even after your wedding - so don't panic if you're having trouble making some decisions.

    What is the Wrapit Price Promise?
    Wrapit is now the largest specialist wedding gift list service in Britain. In fact, we are now bigger than all the other specialist services put together! So, when it comes to choosing your wedding gift list provider, your choice is likely to come down to Wrapit or John Lewis.

    Because Wrapit offer a bigger selection of gorgeously stylish gifts than department stores, many people assume that we don't sell the basics or that we are more expensive.

    Well, they'd be wrong. We go to great lengths to ensure that our prices are either the same as, or lower than theirs. That's why we can provide every Wrapit couple with The Wrapit Price Promise. Here it is:

    If, when you order your list, you find any item on your list cheaper on the John Lewis website*, we will provide you with a Wrapit voucher for the difference - immediately - no questions asked.

    So now you can add things to your list, confident that your guests are getting serious value for their money and that you're getting the most wonderful wedding gifts - and service - possible.

    What if we want something that's not on the website?
    Our website contains a selection of our products, but not everything. So if there is anything you want from one of our 350 featured brands that you cannot find online, just let your consultant know and we will try to add it to our site for you.

    If we want something expensive, can our guests contribute towards it?
    Absolutely. The ability to have a wedding list that features larger items, such as fabulous furniture, is one of the things that makes Wrapit different than other wedding list services. Just add it to your list and ask your guests to buy Wrapit gift certificates, which you can use to pay for it.

    Isn't it cheeky to have a wedding list at all?
    Not in the slightest. Wedding lists have become 'the norm' in recent years and for very good reason: they're the only way to assure both you and your guests that their gifts will truly be treasured.

    Just think about that awful feeling of not knowing what to buy someone - it's really stressful! With a wedding list, you'll save your guests the stress and anxiety of trying to figure out what you want, what you'd like and what you already have. And with Wrapit, you'll also save them a trip to the shops.

    Having a wedding list isn't rude. If anything, it's rude not to.

    How do we let our guests know that our wedding list is with Wrapit?
    Wrapit will be happy to provide you with free Invitation Inserts - just click the link on your homepage to order them.

    These discreet inserts should be slipped into your invitation envelopes. This guarantees that your guests know where your wedding list is and makes life so much easier for them. They will appreciate not having to ring around to find out where your list is or make pot-luck guesses at what you want.

    Over the years we've found that couples who do not use their Invitation Inserts do not receive as many gifts from their list as they'd hoped for. Moreover, they often wind up with the same problems faced by couples who didn't have a wedding list in the first place: "Oh no! Not another fondue set!" is the common refrain.

    How do our guests buy our gifts?
    Your guests can buy your gifts either online or over the phone.

    When you set up your list, your guests will be able to view your list on our site by searching for you or your fiancé's name. If you'd like, you can apply a password to your list to prevent it from being viewed by strangers.

    Your guests will be able to see pictures of your selection and any additional details. When they've decided what they want to give you, they'll be able to buy it directly online, using our secure payment system.

    If your guests don't have internet access, they will be able to call us on the phone number which appears on your Invitation Insert and we can either talk them through your list or send them a copy.

    Whether they chose to buy your gift online or over the phone, your guests will be asked to include a personal message which you will receive immediately by email.

    What if our guests don't have internet access?
    No problem. Less web-savvy friends and relatives can call us on the phone number which appears on your Invitation Inserts. They can either be talked through your list over the phone or be sent a copy by post or fax, complete with pictures of your gifts. They can then make a selection and buy your gift over the phone.

    Can guests from overseas buy us a gift?
    Anyone who has internet access and a credit card can buy you a wedding gift with Wrapit, whether they're in Bombay or Bristol! And although we may not be fluent in many languages, we often deal with phone orders from foreign guests who are happy to hear a cheery voice on the end of the phone.

    How do we know what's been bought for us?
    Every time a gift is bought for you, you will receive an email telling you what was bought and by whom. This will include the message from your guest(s). This information will also be held in your Thank You Card Manager, so that you can easily see who said what and who you need to send cards to when you come home from your honeymoon.

    Can we change our minds after a gift has been bought?
    We know that things change and so we have made the system as flexible as possible. After the wedding, you will 'close' your list. At this point, you can swap things around to make up sets or just cater for a change in your taste.

    When will we receive our gifts?

    Because you have the flexibility to change your list any time until it is closed, we will only order your presents when you confirm your list and ask us to order it.

    You can expect to receive most of your gifts eight weeks after having ordered your list. Most items take quite a while to arrive and crockery, glassware and furniture can sometimes take longer - so you will need to be patient. If it's any consolation, the timescales are the same for all wedding list services and retailers that place orders specifically for clients.

    To spare you having to wait for that one random gift which may be taking longer to arrive than others, a member of our delivery team will call you about six weeks after you've ordered your list to arrange delivery of all the gifts that we have received by then. This delivery will typically take place a couple of weeks after this call. Any remaining gifts will be delivered to you in one subsequent delivery.

    Why does it take eight to twelve weeks to get my gifts to me?

    One of the probable reasons why you chose Wrapit for your wedding list is that we offer a wider choice of homewares than any department store. So, if we were to hold everything in stock, we would need several aircraft hangars to store it, not to mention zillions of pounds to buy it. So we wait until you order your list and then pass those orders on to the relevant suppliers.

    Now... you would think that the suppliers would just go into their stock rooms, collect the items we have ordered from them, and send them straight to us. The problem is that most manufacturers don't carry much stock either (especially china and glassware manufacturers). So we have to wait until they have made (or imported) whatever we order, before they can send it. So, while a few things might arrive within a couple of weeks, the rest usually dribble in about three to six weeks later (and, sometimes, even later than that). We do try and ensure that those brands that are consistently late are identified on the website, but the culprits are often different at different times.

    Once they arrive, each gift has to be identified, checked, allocated to your list, barcoded, labelled and, often, re-wrapped in bubbles. Your list is then assembled and finally packed with care in white Wrapit boxes, to ensure that its arrival is a real event.

    This process takes a couple of weeks and, in this time, we will have processed between 10,000 and 20,000 items.

    So, bear with us. We're working to get those gifts to you as quickly as is humanly possible.

    Is there a delivery charge?

    No! Delivery is completely free to all couples within the UK and there is no charge to guests when purchasing gifts.

    However, if the ordered value of your list is less than £500, a £25 service charge will be payable.

    For deliveries abroad, we provide heavy-duty packing for international shipment, at no extra cost and will help with shipping arrangements.

    Can Wrapit store our gifts?
    Gift List Users will be notified when all the items Ordered against that list are ready for despatch. If some items Ordered on a List have particularly long lead times and at least 60% of the List (by value) is ready for despatch, Wrapit may require the List User to take a part delivery immediately. Once the List User has been advised in writing that Wrapit wish to make a delivery under this provision, a storage charge of £10 per box (approx 0.5 cu.m.). per month will apply 14 days after the notification.

    Will our gifts be wrapped?
    Because the gifts are not delivered to the wedding, they are not individually gift wrapped. However, they do come in large presentation boxes to celebrate one of your best post-honeymoon days!

    Is Wrapit a secure site?
    Yes. We encrypt all your sensitive information before sending it over the internet, using the latest technology. You will see the THAWTE stamp on our checkout page, which provides independent verification of this fact. However, it is worth bearing in mind that neither you or your guests are at any risk if they make purchases from the Wrapit site using their credit cards. Any unauthorised purchases made over the internet are immediately refunded to the cardholder by the relevant card service provider.

    Is Wrapit a secure business?
    Wrapit has been providing wedding gift services for thousands of couples for more than six years and has delivered close on half a million gifts. We certainly don't anticipate anything untoward happening, but in any event, your guests' money is always safe. If they pay by credit card and your gifts are not delivered, they will be refunded, in full by their card provider under the terms of their credit card contract which is regulated by the Consumer Credit Act.
